Services and Faith
Holy Trinity seeks to foster unity, deepen faith and encourage both personal and corporate worship.
Services

Our worship at Holy Trinity seeks to be inclusive of all. Regular services take place at 8am (BCP - traditional language) and 10am (Choral Eucharist) on Sundays. On the third Sunday of the month we have an informal service at 10am. This is preceded at 9am by a said service of Holy Communion. Mid week services are held at 10am on Tuesday and 7.30am on Thursdays. Regular festivals are held throughout the year and the church is always packed out for our Christmas and Easter services. Holy Trinity has a strong choral tradition and the choir robes for worship most Sundays. Junior Church and Creche are available most Sundays, and the children play an active part in our worship. An 11am service is held at our sister church St Augustine's in Broadwater Road.
Holy Trinity takes the great feasts of the Christian year very seriously and we have a number of seasonal events and services including a popular special Easter day children’s service at 11.45am, with Easter eggs for everyone. This is preceded by a dawn service (followed by breakfast!). At Christmas we have a traditional candle-lit carol service and a children’s crib service which is a delight for the very young, and the young at heart. We are part of Churches Together in Balham and Upper Tooting, and on Good Friday we join the March of Witness, where hundreds march through the area reflecting on the Stations of the Cross. Other joint events include One World Week and a Prayer Walk.
Deepening Faith

Holy Trinity offers a range of opportunities and groups to deepen faith. Over the past few months we have run a series of Bible studies in a relaxed setting which begins with a meal and ends with a talk and discussion. A prayer and meditation group is also held monthly on a Wednesday evening to provide a time of quiet reflection.
The Thomas Group, a lively discussion group, meets monthly, in a parishioner's home on a Saturday morning, to ask questions, discuss and learn together. Recent topics have been "The Afterlife - What's the future if you're no good with harp" and a discussion of the best-selling book "The Shack". Various other study groups also take place during the year. We have regular monthly discussion evenings, with speakers, on topical and ethical issues. These explore the Christian response to issues such as 'caring for the environment', 'surviving the credit crunch' and 'coping with loss'.

We aren't always in church and over the last few years we have taken several parish pilgrimages with our sister church St Augustine's, which have included Rome, Assisi and Lindisfarne and Oberammergau.
In 2010 we will be taking a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. We are a 'United Benefice' with St Augustine's, which is in Broadwater Road, Tooting (opposite Tooting Market). This means that we share the same Vicar and Staff Team, but each church has its own PCC and Churchwardens. We share various services each year with our sister church.
Holy Trinity is open for prayer and reflection each day (usually between 8am and 6pm) and prayers can be found at the back of the church for your personal use.
Faith and Life Events
Holy Trinity is always delighted to welcome those wishing to baptise/Christen their children. Confirmation services, to renew vows made at baptism, are held annually and preparation classes take place every year. Holy Trinity is also of course available for weddings and funerals. Please do contact us if you would like to know more.
We are very fortunate to have the church halls adjoining the church with their own kitchen which makes post service events and receptions very easy to arrange. If you are interested in booking the hall please click here.
