The church with the open doors
The church with the open doors – we welcome you warmly
The Church is open every day for quiet and prayer.
This week, 15th to 21st May, is Christian Aid Week.
The theme this year is 'Help turn hunger into hope', with a particular focus on those who are facing crisis through the effects of major world events - climate change leading to drought or floods, the Covid-19 pandemic, and now the conflict in Ukraine driving up the costs of fertiliser and food.
You can donate to Christian Aid through Holy Trinity, or directly via their website.
Plant Sale - Sunday 8th May
This year's Holy Trinity Plant Sale was a great success, raising over £1000
for the charities we support.
Thank you to all who came and bought plants or cakes - and apologies to those who came too late, as we sold out very quickly!
We'll be back next year , with our usual selection of annual plants in bloom,
ready for summer pots and patios, and perennial plants to stock beds and borders for the longer term.
A new Vicar
The Revd Angela Rayner was Instituted as the new Vicar of Holy Trinity and St Augustine's on 27th April.
She can be contacted on 07385 181103, or by email.
Community Open Day
We were pleased to welcome so many people at our Community Open Day on Saturday 26th March, to find out about our life as
a church, and help celebrate the restoration of the tower and the work ahead to
restore our Edwardian wall paintings. There were also tours, children’s
activities, refreshments and lunches.
Praying for the people of Ukraine
The Lord shall give strength to
his people; the Lord shall give his people
the blessing of peace. (Psalm
29.10)
God of
strength and peace,
send
your blessing on the people of Ukraine.
Sustain
them in their struggles,
hold
them in their fear,
protect
them from all danger
and be
for them the hope they desire;
for
Jesus Christ’s sake. Amen.
