Holy Trinity Upper Tooting

The church with the open doors

About us

We are a liberal Anglican church, committed to one another and our local community. Usually, our worship centres on the Eucharist, with a choral Parish Communion our main service.
Our church building is open every day for prayer and quiet, and our open doors are a sign of our welcome to all.  Serving the community through our buildings has been at the heart of our mission.

Location

Holy Trinity is at the corner of Trinity Road and Trinity Crescent, opposite Tooting Fire Station.

The 219 and 319 buses pass the door, while the 155, 255 and 249 go along Balham High Road and/or Upper Tooting Road, five minutes away.  It is a ten minute walk from Wandsworth Common rail station, on the main line to Victoria.

Our Building

Wedding Party in the Hall

Holy Trinity is a spacious Victorian church in Trinity Road, Tooting Bec. It was built in 1855 and is Grade II listed. We have three halls – a large hall with a stage and two small halls – and a kitchen. These are regularly used by schools and community groups. They are available for hire for regular groups or one-off events, such as children's parties. See the information on booking the halls.

Upgrading

Since the 1970s a series of major alterations, extensions and repairs have been carried out, as we seek to adapt our buildings and facilities for the needs of both the church and the community in the 21st century. Within the last 10 years, we have completed a major upgrade of our hall facilities, with a new kitchen and disabled-access toilet, and the addition of the second small hall. We have recently completed major repairs to the structure and stonework of the tower, and the installation of a coffee point in the north aisle of the church to create an additional meeting area.

Faith events

Holy Trinity is always ready to help those wishing to arrange baptisms, weddings and funerals. The halls can be booked for use in conjunction with these – see information on booking the halls. Holy Trinity also hosts annual services of thanksgiving by Christian organisations, such as the Sierra Leone Women's Association and the Adisadel School thanksgiving service, and we welcome enquiries from other organisations.

Safeguarding

We are committed to following the safeguarding guidelines of the Diocese of Southwark
